A Sample Marketing Plan by David NordenSix point that you shouldn't forget when creating your marketing plan. 1) When working out your plan you should first try to answer the following questions: Answer "who," "what," "when," "where," and "how" try to be detailed and try to find out benefits more than features. Do not hesitate to setup a survey with your current customers and suppliers. 2) Analyse your industry. You need to spot strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats Try to find out trends and certainly you need to find out the main struggles of your market. Find out activities of current and future competitors, make a map of suppliers and customers. See if there are some regulatory issues. 3 ) Products & Target Markets Describe your products and your target customersand see if there are filling a hole in the market or providing real value. Try to define the following
- Industry & society trends related to your customers.- Your target customers' needs and wants , and corresponding benefits received from products, and how they can solve there most important problems and fears.4) Strategy - position your product -objectives and mission statement -product's marketing mix (4 p's) product, placement (distribution channels), price, promotions 5) Test, Test, Test Monitor progress & try variations of your products and promotions to find out the most beneficials, measure eveything you do. 6) Do some forecasts and financial analysis Try to estimate size and seasonanility of your target markets
